$9,000 Per Acre in Northwest Iowacorn field

A recent private sale in Buena Vista Co., Iowa, saw 80 acres sell for $9,000 per acre. The farm was located about two miles east of Marathon. It featured 79 tillable acres and carried a cropland CSR2 of 83.2 versus the county cropland CSR2 average of 85.5.

$3,355 per acre in East-Central Arkansas

A private listing in Woodruff Co., Ark., saw 520 acres sell to an investor for $3,355 per acre. The ground was located near McCrory. It was 87% tillable with six irrigation wells; 90% of the tillable acres were irrigated, primarily by flood irrigation; 50 acres were precision leveled. Soils carried a NCCPI rating of 68.5, considered to be below average in quality.

$10,255 per acre in Northern Illinois

Mar. 11 saw the auction of 153 acres 1.5 miles northwest of Lostant in LaSalle Co., Ill., bring $10,255 per acre. The offered featured 147 tillable acres with a PI of 144.3 with 147 maximum per Illinois Bulletin 811 and 193.1 using the Optimum Productivity Corn Yield (OPCY) indicator.

$8,644 per acre in Central Iowa

A private listing of Dallas Co., Iowa, farmland sold recently for $8,644 an acre. The farm was located about three miles northwest of Dallas Center or southeast of Minburn. The offering consisted of 59 acres with 56 acres considered tillable. The CSR2 on the cropland is 87.8 versus the county average cropland CSR2 is 76.9.

$17,100 per acre Northwest Iowa

A Friday, April 15, auction in Sioux Co., Iowa, saw 80 acres of prime ground sell for $17,100 an acre. The farm was located about three miles north of Orange City and was virutally all tillable. It carried a CSR2 on the cropland of 90.9 versus the county average cropland CSR2 of 85.5.
